The closest country to New Zealand is Australia.
Known fondly as our "big brother", Australia is often mistaken as being the same country as New Zealand. We share very similar flags, a huge passion for rugby and a long standing argument over who first invented the pavlova.
International flights to Australia are possible from Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Queenstown and Dunedin.
